Considering that we’re still such newbies at this whole filmmaking game, it may come as a surprise to some of you that we have entered into the 2008 48 Hour Film Project in Houston. The task is simple, create a short film lasting between 4 – 7 minutes in just one weekend. The genre will be drawn from a pool and we will be given a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue to use. Everything else is up to us. Wish us luck!

I just finished a rewrite of the Man Woman Child script. I think it’s better. I’m biased. If we can’t get Switchbox done, then this is a sort of plan B in my opinion. Two characters, one location, high drama. If you’re interested in reading it, send an email me a message at adam at voodoo studios dot net.
In case we needed a reminder…
I make no apologies for the blinding flash.
It looks like Switchbox has gotten the green light as the summer production for Voodoo Studios. We’ve discussed the script some more and decided that for the most part it is ready to go. Of course there may be some minor tweaks here and there, but we’ve essentially got a shoot-able script right now. Here’s a rundown on what’s happening…
We’re working out some logisitcs on the box. The box is obvioulsy critical to the project, but I have a good feeling that John’s vision of it will blow you away.
John and I are talking to some actors who, luckily for us, don’t have any clue what they might be getting themselves into.
Hank and and I are both working on getting us access to some more tunes – there’s some promising stuff in the works in my opinion that should fit nicely with Switchbox.
This weekend we hope to do some on book camera tests just to see how some of the stuff reads on ‘film’.

Once upon a time, I listened to a man recount a story on one of my favorite podcasts about getting a blowgun dart shot thru his hand. In an instant I was intrigued. Who is this man? What kind of sneakers does he prefer? Where does he shop for quinoa? I listened intently and learned the answer to just one of those questions. His name is Paul Blann and he is responsible for many tasty grooves that can be found thru his site, paulblann.com.
I approached Paul about possibly stealing a song from him to use in one of our shorts. I’m happy to report that Paul has agreed to share his grooves with us!
If you get a chance, do yourself a favor and watch Paul take a dart thru the hand:
