Scripts Page, Seven Dollar Salvation Excerpt

Because we’re so into the teasers these days, it’s my duty to let you all know that I’ve created a scripts page right here, and on that page you will find some rather short descriptions of some of the scripts we’re working on as well as an excerpt from one of the latest scripts to get the first draft treatment.  It is called Seven Dollar Salvation, and just so it’s handy, here’s a link to that excerpt.

Switchbox First Draft

So maybe it’s only been 6 hours or so since my last post about the brainstorming meeting, but I have since finished the first draft of the short script for Switchbox.  I don’t want to give away any secrets right now, but I think it turned out pretty well.  I thought I’d have a hard time writing it and I had to deal with a pretty major block right at the beginning, but things started flowing eventually.

The first draft may be far from the final version, but at least we’ve got something to start with.  After a few tweaks and updates, it might be ready to hand off to you lucky readers and potential cast and crew memebers.

Brainstorm Meeting 1 – Switchbox

We had our first official meeting tonight of the key Voodoo Studios players.  We discussed more options for scripts than you can shake a snake at, and all in all had a very productive time.  Interestingly for me though, I think the most popular idea is one of the hardest scripts to write, so I have my work cut out for me, but if we pull it off it will be amazing.  I don’t know how I could possibly lead a meeting like this one and end up getting myself such a tough job.

We also did a table read on a completed short script called Spectacularity.  It was nice hearing the lines read aloud so that we know how they might come off in a real filming situation.  I dig the script even more now and it will be a great second choice for us if I can’t get my mind wrapped around Switchbox which is shaping up to be a nice little psychological thriller.

Now I just have to write it.

Welcome to Voodoo Studios

I’d like to welcome everyone to the new and improved Voodoo Studios website.  Stay tuned as I will be adding a lot of information in the coming days.  John shot an amazing little trailer for Trolls that I hope to get posted shortly.  Also there’s a sneak peek at what the future holds for Trolls in a storyboard that John created.   I’ll also be working on the general set up here and add links to old storyboards for Man Woman Child and then rebuild the links to all the old stuff you love.  Just check over on the sidebar and you should be able to find what you’re looking for.
