News 48 teams have already registered for the upcoming Houston 48 Hour Film Project. Pretty crazy that all the spots are taken considering we’re still more than a month away from kickoff! There are a lot of familiar names in the list over at the 48HFP site. Check out here.
Wish us luck!

News Here we go again…
Today we signed up to compete in the annual Houston 48 Hour Film Project where we will once again be tasked with completing a 4 to 7 minute short film over the course of one weekend using a genre drawn from a hat along with a required character, prop, and line of dialogue.
Wish us luck!

The Brothers Watkins Just an FYI for fellow PaulBlann.com followers… Paul has an updated site with some merch on it. Send him an email and tell him that you dig him and buy a shirt or two. And remember, you wouldn’t be the first person to say that the Smitten Bayou tee in The Brothers Watkins was the best thing about the short.

News About 6 hours ago, we were given a genre of film, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue. We will have to incorporate all of this into a 4 – 7 minute short film similar to what we did on the 48 Hour Film Project.
Our genre is Holiday Film, and our script was just completed. It’s a Christmas comedy about three brothers trying to make mom happy. We start shooting tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Lifeline,
News I’m pleased to announce that we’ve got the finished product in our hands for our entry into the 48 hour film project for Houston 2008. In less than 48 hours, we completed our very first five and a half minute short film as a team.
Our genre was Film de Femme
Required elements:
A waiter or waitress named Frank or Frieda Gilroy
A lightbulb
The following line of dialogue: “He’s been around a time or two.”
Title: Lifeline
Log line: “Therapist Tracey Batemen leaves the couch behind to rescue a patient.”
I’ll be posting here again once we get a version put on the web.

News I’m pleased to announce that we’re getting more support in the music department. Our music manager / stuntman Eric somehow convinced tired ant to hitch his wagon to the shooting star that is Voodoo Studios.
I’m embedding a little widget here so you can get a taste of his tunes. Enjoy!

Switchbox Here are a few stills from our first day of shooting Switchbox. John snapped these while the cast read through their lines before shooting began.

News Considering that we’re still such newbies at this whole filmmaking game, it may come as a surprise to some of you that we have entered into the 2008 48 Hour Film Project in Houston. The task is simple, create a short film lasting between 4 – 7 minutes in just one weekend. The genre will be drawn from a pool and we will be given a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue to use. Everything else is up to us. Wish us luck!

News,
Switchbox It looks like Switchbox has gotten the green light as the summer production for Voodoo Studios. We’ve discussed the script some more and decided that for the most part it is ready to go. Of course there may be some minor tweaks here and there, but we’ve essentially got a shoot-able script right now. Here’s a rundown on what’s happening…
We’re working out some logisitcs on the box. The box is obvioulsy critical to the project, but I have a good feeling that John’s vision of it will blow you away.
John and I are talking to some actors who, luckily for us, don’t have any clue what they might be getting themselves into.
Hank and and I are both working on getting us access to some more tunes – there’s some promising stuff in the works in my opinion that should fit nicely with Switchbox.
This weekend we hope to do some on book camera tests just to see how some of the stuff reads on ‘film’.

News,
Ramblings I’d like to welcome everyone to the new and improved Voodoo Studios website. Stay tuned as I will be adding a lot of information in the coming days. John shot an amazing little trailer for Trolls that I hope to get posted shortly. Also there’s a sneak peek at what the future holds for Trolls in a storyboard that John created. I’ll also be working on the general set up here and add links to old storyboards for Man Woman Child and then rebuild the links to all the old stuff you love. Just check over on the sidebar and you should be able to find what you’re looking for.
